Turning Data into Decisions Teams Will Use
A dashboard that nobody trusts is worse than no dashboard, because it still consumes meeting time. Trust comes from definitions, source transparency, and a refresh process that does not surprise people on the morning of a review.
Start with the question. “How is the operation performing?” is not a question. “How many requests were completed within the agreed time last week, and where did they stall?” is a question. The second one tells you which source systems, timestamps, and status values you need.
Conflicting metrics are usually a governance problem, not a visualization problem. Two teams can be right according to their own filters. Analytics work has to make those filters visible or agree to retire one of them.
FUTUREAXIS data work is deliberately modest at the start: fewer reports, clearer ownership, and a path to a more durable platform only when the first layer is used.
